Can’t readout your FDR due to missing Conversion Documentation?
It happens! Depending on the age of your aircraft and the modifications it has undergone in the past, it is quite possible that you are not in possession of the proper FDR dataframe layout for reading out your FDR. When aircraft go through the hands of several owners, records and documentation often fail to transfer, leaving the existing aircraft operator hopeless. The encouraging news is, using our advanced data mining tools, databus software, and conversion algorithms, we can visit your aircraft to test and build the necessary FDR dataframe specification and publication to get you up and running again.
How exactly does it work?
Well, we can’t give all of our secrets away…but we can give a hint! FAA Advisory Circular 20-141B provides approved guidance and procedures for reverse engineernig FDR data. The approach we take will depend on the type of conversion data missing, i.e. – resolution, range, or engineering units. Either we will need to visit your aircraft for testing or you will lease our equipment to acquire the necessary parameter data points. Either way, this is heavy stuff and better left to the experts.
